Field reports & triangulation

Automated collection can cover many news reports and apply one cost model consistently. It cannot tell who actually paid for an event or whether a reported figure is accurate. Field reports from journalists, investigators and observers add that ground-level evidence. Every report is checked by a reviewer before it is published here, and only reviewed reports are shown.

How evidence is handled

  1. 01 · Collection

News articles and public submissions are collected and summarised automatically. Everything collected starts as “awaiting review”.

  2. 02 · Field reports

Journalists, investigators and observers file what they saw here: where, by what method, and any estimated value.

  3. 03 · Review

A reviewer checks each item against its source and either verifies or rejects it. Pending items never count toward a total.

  4. 04 · Publish & correct

Verified items are published with their source. Anyone can request a correction, and changes are made on the record.

Figures are estimates built from published reporting and a cost model. They are not findings that any law was broken. Each figure links to its source. To report an error, use the correction link on the page.
